You can live for weeks without food, but only a few minutes without air. Our lungs have the capacity to use up to 1½ gallons of air, but most of us usually only use about a quart of that. Oxygen feeds our blood, our muscles and helps our metabolism. It's not just about taking big breaths. It's about absorbing the air and a proper balance of oxygen and carbon dioxide. Throughout civilization, the words for breath have been linguistically connected to spirit and energy. Even English uses words like in-spire and a-spire. How is breath related to expression, creativity and health? And how can exploring the mechanism of breathing, both the action as well as the movement of the trunk, enhance quality of life? Join us and find out!
